Mission
To encourage and invigorate Prince George’s County women to use their vast wisdom, skills, special gifts, talents and resources innovatively, to help girls and young women to reach their full potential and to prepare them as our future leaders in Prince George’s County and beyond.
History
Prince George’s Women United To Help Others (PGWUTHO) was the vision of First Lady Leslie E. Johnson. Mrs. Johnson believes that each person’s life should be committed to community service and helping to uplift others. Therefore, Mrs. Johnson thought it imperative to establish a program that would act as a vehicle for Prince George’s women from all walks of life to use their wisdom, skills, special gifts and resources to help girls and young women rise to their full potential and become future leaders in Prince George’s County and beyond. County Executive Jack Johnson shared this vision and belief; and so at the 22nd Annual Prince George’s Women’s History Luncheon celebrated on March 22, 2007, Prince George’s Women United To Help Others (PGWUTHO) was unveiled as another Livable Communities Initiative of Prince George’s County Executive Jack Johnson.
